ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Vickie Hester, Ph.D., is a certified Texas educator with advanced degrees in language and writing. Dr. Hester believes in the Pass the TExES program. Using these strategies,she scored in the 90th percentile on all her TExES examinations. She currently serves as a classroom teacher and editor of the Kids Writing Connection, a Dallas ISD publication for fledgling authors.
Kim Elmore, M.A., is a Texas teacher with certifications in elementary education, physical education, and art. She serves as a teacher leader and mentor for a large urban school district. In her role of teacher support, Ms. Elmore knows the value of extensive preparation for teaching success. Her work with Ed Publishing is designed to help teachers not only pass the TExES, but to get a step ahead toward a successful classroom career.
Shannon Pugh, M.A., was born at Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, TX. She
spent her childhood in Alaska, Louisiana, and California. She earned a
Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and History with a minor in
humanities at Midwestern State University. Ms. Pugh followed her BA with a
Master of Arts in Political Science. In 1994 she joined Teach for America and
was stationed in the Mississippi Delta where she taught 7th and 8th grade
history. During this time she completed her teacher certification requirements
through courses completed at the University of Mississippi and
Mississippi Valley State University. In 1997 she moved to Dallas and began teaching at W.T. White High School where she currently teaches AP European
History, AP World History, and AP Art History. Ms. Pugh is certified in composite social studies (history, government, economics, psychology, and
sociology), speech, educational technology, ESL, and art. In 2004, she earned a Master of Education Degree in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas. She was one of the first three Texas teachers certified by the
National Board of Professional Teaching Standards in Social Studies. Ms. Pugh has presented at conferences at the local, state, and national level and is the past president of Dallas Council for the Social Studies. She is a
frequent trainer of new teachers. She is actively involved with
the Advanced Placement program and she serves as a reader for the AP World
History Exam.
She is the 2005 High School Teacher of the Year for Dallas Independent School District.

"The Basics" options: This introductory session by phone with our staff and is $45 for just over 1 hour. You can purchase this session back on our main page near the bottom of the page. This is a great option for teachers who want a kick-start to their study. With this option your book is 25% off, ebook 10% off, and provided by refund to your card after the session. This session does not cover subject matter content, but provides a step-by-step review of every part of our study program...worksheets, exercises, study tips, etc.
"The Details" options: If you choose the one-on-one "Details" Zoom® tutoring, you meet with the author or one of our trained tutors for a minimum of 2 hours and your book is 25% off, provided by refund to your card after the session. The tutor assesses where you are at in your preparation, spends time with you in a targeted content review, reviews study program activities to lead you into "active study", and provides customized study recommendations. This option is $75 per hour and payable directly to the tutor. You may also pre-pay for "The Details" tutoring at the bottom of the main page of our website.
