This book is over 400 pages in length.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
William J. Kortz Jr. Ed.D., is a bilingual professor at the University of Houston Downtown where he teaches bilingual, ESL, alternative certification, and educational technology classes. He was previously a federal technology director for a distance learning initiative, The Texas Center for Academic Excellence, http://www.shsu.edu/~txcae. He served as a public school bilingual teacher, grades 3-5, and ESL teacher/coordinator, grades K-12. Presently, he serves as an awarded member of the TExES Committee for Teacher Certification at UHD as well as alternative certification committee. His areas of expertise include technology in curriculum, bilingual, ESL, elementary generalist, and pedagogy and professional development.
Vickie Hester, Ph.D., is a certified Texas educator with advanced degrees in language and
writing. Dr. Hester believes in the Pass the TExES program. Using these strategies,she scored in the 90th percentile on all her TExES examinations. She currentlyserves as a classroom teacher and editor of the Kids Writing Connection, a DallasI.S.D. publication for fledgling authors.
Judy Mattair recently retired from Spring High School where she taught mathematics and served as the department chair. She received a B.S. from Stephen F. Austin in 1969, a M.Ed. from Texas A&M in 1977 and a Ph.D. from Texas A&M in 1981. Her teaching experience ranges from fifth grade through graduate level courses. Included in the several teaching awards she has received is the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Teaching.
Paola Dolcemascolo has a B.A. and an M.S. in Biology and has been
interested in Science since she could speak. She teaches Biology courses at
Essex County College in Newark, NJ, and when she's not in Newark, she's in
Sicily. Besides teaching Science, Paola works as a freelance translator,
writer, and pharmaceutical market researcher
