Pass the TExES Math 4-8 for #115 by Andrzej Sokolowski, M.S. and
Judy Mattair, M.Ed., Ph.D., and Shavsha Davis, M.S., is an excellent book
designed to provide helpful study methods and test taking strategies in the
style of all of the Pass the TExES books. Several math examples are included
in each Competency chapter. The book is over 200 pages in length. See the author's bio below.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Andrzej Sokolowski is a graduate from University of Gdansk, Poland with a
Master's degree in physics. He teaches physics at Cypress Ridge High School
in Houston and he is also an adjunct at Montgomery College in Conroe. His
professional interest in integrating the methodologies of mathematics and
science resulted in a variety of articles published in periodicals for
education. He is a member of NCTM and a convention speaker. He is also an
advisor and a member of the physics committee at the American Board for
Certification of Teacher Excellence.
Judy Mattair recently retired from Spring High School where she taught
mathematics and served as the department chair. She received a B.S. from
Stephen F. Austin in 1969, a M.Ed. from Texas A&M in 1977 and a Ph.D. from
Texas A&M in 1981. Her teaching experience ranges from fifth grade through
graduate level courses. Included in the several teaching awards she has
received is the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science and Mathematics
Teaching.
Shavsha Davis obtained her Bachelors in Mathematics from Southern Methodist
University in Dallas Texas. She earned her Masters of Science in Integrative
Physiology from University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort
Worth, Texas. And is currently completing a Masters of Public Health in
Biostatistics. Mrs. Davis has published many articles in various science
journals. She currently resides in Texas with her husband William Davis.
